like if you finance a car and you can’t pay it off and you return it and it gets auctioned off….and if you still can’t afford to pay the remaing balance off..can they take the money out of your account? There are collection agencies contacting a relative of mine trying to reach me. I just wanted to know how they manage to find out who my relatives are? I have a very common last name, so could they possibly be calling everyone in my state with the same last name? Or do they actually have [...] got a letter in the mail from the credit card debt people stating they may possibly start taking money out of paycheck… is this possible? I know they can seize control of your bank account. Just don’t know if they can also do that with stock accounts. I have a few baddies but nothing huge. I will not be living in the US after a few weeks so I won’t be using a US bank account. Its all gone to legal she has basically sued Tescos coz she fell over and is about to be awarded 2k. But she has serious debt and wont tell her cc company where she is, they are trying to make her bank rupt, will they find out? I currently do not have a bank account but I am worried that once I open one my debt collectors will take money out of it. Is that true? These debts are just small medical bills and such.
