How Much Would Insurance Cost For A New Car Owner?

Hi,
I am 23 and just about to receive a drivers licence. I am thinking of buying audi a3 2.0 TDi (2004).
I was wondering if you guys have any idea on what would the insurance cost per year?
Like roughly…
Would it be £1000 , would it be under £400 , More the £1000 . .. As you can see I have no clue :D But would like to have some sort of rough estimate :)
Thanks

Help yourself – you can check your quotes in internet, for example here – autoinsurance.noneto.com

It depends where you live but the Audi is probably around Group 14 insurance so it won’t be cheap; if you live in a place like London you can add a zero!
Forget the Audi, buy a car under 1500cc and in a low insurance group.
The duller the car is the less it will cost you; start with a basic small car and look into sportier cars in about 5 years time; when (and if) you’ve got 5 years no-claims bonus you’ll be able to afford an Audi without choking on the insurance premiums.
In a small town with low crime levels you can get insurance on some cars for under £500 and over time it can go as low as £200 but the first thing to check out when looking at cars is what the insurance will cost because as a first-time driver it may cost as much as the car itself. For the cheapest quotes always phone around – internet quotes are the worst.

This question is most often asked on here, nearly everyday, by niave 17 year olds.
Yes it will be nearer the 1000 mark but could be a lot more depending on your own details.
You can go on somewhere like http://www.confused.com and put all the dtails in to get a quote – you do not need the actual reg of the car and they expect to handle enquiries like that. Within a couple of minutes you will have an accurate figure not the guesses, educated or otherwise and stupid comments, you will get on here. (schools are on holiday!)

You may as well ask how long is a piece of string! It depends on what group a particular insurer decides to rate the car as, your postcode, whether it’s for business use, where the car is kept overnight etc etc…
The only way to find out for sure is to get loads of quotes.

    Hi,
the best way to find this out is to just get a quote. You will have to fill out the form online which only takes a minute or so. Then you will be given a quote – really easy! Apply here:
    http://www.happyinternaut.com/insurance
They have very affordable prices, and extremely good services.
Oh, and they will give you a free quote super fast.

Depends on loads of things like your job, annual mileage, location etc etc etc
Go to http://www.insuresupermarket.com and get a really quick quote from loads of insurers. You don’t need to have bought a particular car yet .. you can get a quote based on car make and model.
    Hope this helps.

It will be more than £1000 i think as you are a new driver. Compare your car insurance to get the best price. Try theycompare.co.uk

Get quotes yourself based on your own criteria, there are too many factors involved for an estimate.

More than the value of the car i guess! But try Direct Line, pretty reasonable
