At least you have had some warning, 20 years ago I was asked to attend a meeting and was told that they didn’t want me any more and not to go back to work. I eventually started working from home as nobody in my area wanted a 40+ year old manager, and family problems meant I couldn’t move to find work.
In fact I am now building an international business from home where I am the leader and I am developing a team of people who are doing the same. The advantage of this is I earn a residual income, I get paid evry month having done a task just once.
You could do this too, for further info check out this web page http://www.iolair.acnrep.com and good luck

Register with recruitment agencies in your area. You will find that they will work on your behalf to get you back into work. It may be temporary contract or full time but its easier doing it this way than going it alone.

Make sure you sign up for unemployment immediately. Hopefully you won’t need it, but you might. We had so many people that would be out of work for a couple of months then come in wanting to go back and claim from the time they lost their job saying they didn’t want to claim because they were looking for a job and there just wasn’t anything out there. If you find something quickly and don’t need it that’s great, but go file for it just in case. That’s what employers pay their taxes for.
The best place to start job hunting is your unemployment office. Most of the large industries and reputable companies list with them.
The temporary agencies can be a good place to go as well.
Basically that leaves calling around and seeing what companies take applications on site.
Good luck & happy job hunting!
